Student Organizations: There are around 29 organizations of different types in SUST
1.Debating club:
- ShahJalal University Debating Society ( SUST Debating Club /SDC) which was established in 1992. SUDS usually arranges the inter-department debate competition, the winners of which again take part in the national and inter-university debate competition.SUDS arranges workshop on debate , weekly study circle.
2.Science Clubs:
- SUST Science Club
- SUST SCIENCE ARENA
3.Musical Clubs:
- RIM Musical Club( Rokon Iftekhar Memorial) which was established in 1997 by the students perform concert in the campus and over the city
- NONGAR
4.Cultural Club:
- "SHIKORH" which mainly perform the the local and flock music of bangladesh.Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is the Chief Advisor of "SHIKORH".
- Theatre SUST, which is the first group theater of the University .Theatre SUST established in 7 December 1997 .
5.Newspaper:
- Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has also a newspaper,named Protiddhoni
6.Litarery Organization:
- Litarery organization named "OHONA PORSHAD" founded by T. M. Ahmed Kaysar and Mohammed Nurul Alam ,organized a number of folk festival called Louko Mela
